Re: Cabin Heating and Air Vent
I'm not near the heater stage yet of the fuselage build process, but an email to: technical@slingaircraft.com could provide some insight. I'm still trying to get an idea of the effectiveness of the heater in stock form. If it's built correctly and still doesn't put out the heat, I'll look into going...

Re: Documenting a build here?
I've been using the EAA Builder's log, and it's great to have.
It's easy to use, and free to EAA members.

Re: Paint Booth Size
I primed all of my Sling 2 skins outside, using sawhorses and 2x4s. When it comes to the complete assemblies(wings, HS, VS, etc.) the size booth will depend on how many pieces you want to paint at once. The wings are long and not too wide, but if you have them mounted on a roller fixture to turn the...

Re: Tools to build
Oh cool - it's not just me where the rivets jam... :) In watching the hour long tour on YT of the Sling factory in SA one of the guys giving the tour said there as a little north of 22,000 rivets. That seems awfully high to me. But yes - the Milwaukee is more than adequate to build one of these pla...

Re: Alternative Engines
I've been looking at Edge Performance, seeing they can give me a little more power than the standard Rotaxes without having to go turbocharged. I'm not looking to get a higher top speed out of my Sling 2, but want to climb out quicker on those high density altitude days. Their fuel injection reprogr...

Re: Panel CAD
Maybe contact Midwest Avionics and see if they have something that you could use.
I would think they would, because of the number of panels they do.

Re: "Electrical kit"?
I've purchased my empennage and wing wiring from Midwest Avionics and I couldn't be happier with the quality or service. Everything is labelled very clearly and the lengths have been more than adequate. I was going to make the wiring harnesses myself, but the time it takes to make up the harnesses a...

Re: Tools to build
I'm having a heck of a time finding a used XT2. I've seen a few on ebay but they have looked pretty beat up. If anyone has other leads, please let me know. Have you looked into the cordless Milwaukee M12 rivet gun? Even though I have an air compressor, I knew that it would only be a matter of time ...
