Giving out FREE batteries at Airventure 23

If this isn't allowed just delete... I found a facebook site saying that Smokehouse Pilots Club is giving out free battery packs at Airventure. Apparently you have to find the main smokehouse person walking around at airventure and tell them their motto. And you get a free battery pack to charge you...

Gap Seal for better performance

Has anyone ever thought about adding Gap Seal for elevator, flap, ailerons ??? Its an optional stc for pipers and cessnas. And cirrus comes with a sticker seal. Apparently you can get 4 knots more with them... The seals can be made from plastic sticker, like cirrus, or aluminum like the cessna/piper...

Task Based Flight Testing

Task Based Flight Testing, is here. What do we think of it ??? If you don't know. its an alternative that the FAA now offers, ( due to collaboration with EAA ) as an alternative to the standard 40/25 hour fly off hours approach that has been used forever as a method of completed phase one flight tes...

Re: Alternative Engines

just my two cents,,, The rotax 915 at 141hp is pretty anemic. for example a cirrus sr22. has a 1/10 weight/hp ratio. the tsi has a 1/14 weight/hp ratio. ouch ! now edge performances 917 would be sweet !! if it makes 165hp that's 1/12. If it makes 200 hp that's 1/10. random info, the ac aero, is abou...

Re: Loctite or Safety wire ?

Because I didn't get an answer on this... I realized some things in my own research on this topic. First,,, I need to start spelling loctite correctly. Second,,, the elevator bolts don't use loctite. It is apparently not a good idea to use loctite with nyloc nuts. Learned something new. So that lead...

Loctite or Safety wire ?

Is the locktite on moving parts sufficient ? I feel a little uneasy about just locktite on the elevator bolts. Why not safety wire or a crown bolt and cotter pin ???

Re: Question about gas

Can our rotax 915is use 93 with ethanol ? If so what would the down side be ? anything more than the increased oil change interval that we already expect ? Yes, it can use unleaded mogas 91AKI or better with up to 10% ethanol. There is no increase oil change interval associated with unleaded mogas....
