Midwest Skysports in MI builds TSIs. Not sure if they have CFIs on staff

You can also check out Sling Pilot academy at Torrance airport. They do Tsi transition training.

Re: MOSAIC and Sling TSi

I know the published Vs1 for the TSi is 55 knots indicated, but I don't know what it is calibrated. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/07/24/2023-14425/modernization-of-special-airworthiness-certification Professing ignorance on the details of CAS vs IAS. I know what the definition is, ...

Re: Kit configuration: Parachute pros and cons?

Not a reply to the baggage weight increase, but rather something that occurred to me that reinforced my decision to put in a chute. Took my son back to university after Easter weekend. Was flying a modern glass cockpit bird WITHOUT a parachute, so had lots of info about conditions. Spent 2+ hours al...

Re: Rotax 916is Turbo

Have made a deposit for the engine (before the 916 was announced), but not yet received. I was told by the European distributor that engines were delivered in 4 weeks right now, so it seems strange you'd have to put a deposit down so far in advance. I also didn't think the engines came through SA? ...

Re: Rotax 916is Turbo

So there are those of us kind of caught in the middle here. I have a kit coming soon, but feel it's a big hit to install an older, less capable 915, given the expectation the 916 will be approved by Sling shortly. Have made a deposit for the engine (before the 916 was announced), but not yet receive...

Re: Tsi Insurance quotes

I wonder how much of that is due to the Tsi having 4 seats. It would be interesting to compare insurance quotes for a Sling 2. If number of seats is really a factor, perhaps you can leave the rear seats out for the first year while you fly off the 40 hours. Of course you would have to convince the ...

Re: Tsi Insurance quotes

You make some great points about the options, and the flexibility we have with experimental aircraft. If it's a whole loss in a flight accident, there's likely other issues I'm dealing with! And if it happens in the hanger non-moving, that should have nothing to do with the airplane or the pilot so ...
