Re: Sling TSi - Near Tampa, FL, USA

Hi Joe! Welcome! I'm building (slowly) in Cocoa, so rather close, and I'm in Tampa every few weeks for work, so would love to connect if you want to! I hope you weathered the storm ok, and look forward to meeting you!

Re: Self Etching Primer

I'm a little late to the game here, but I thought I'd add my recent experience. I used SEM green on the vertical stabilizer structure and the inside of the skin. It applies well, and SEM makes good products. No flaking of the primer. After I ran out of SEM, I was unable to find it in green. Evident...

Re: Self Etching Primer

I'm curious, what's the weight penalty on priming everything? It seems one of the advantages of Alodining is that you're not adding a bunch of weight. Of course, there's the nasty chemical disadvantage instead... I will be able to tell you this in a few weeks, as I'll be disassembling the VS, primi...

Re: ELT Antenna location

See page 43 of DC-KIA-X-F-7.5 if you haven't already. There is an optional doubler plate available from the factory for a rear-mounted ELT antenna. I assume that this would have the same drawbacks as any other rear-mounted ELT antenna, and the further drawback of being external. So, I'm sure someone...

Re: TAF Support of Deficiency in the Kit

I haven't had any parts I've damaged on my own yet (knock on wood) but I would think if I broke something I'd be on the hook for that - and honestly that's only fair. Honestly, that's my position too, but I've yet to be charged for a part even when I've been very clear that I screwed it up and want...

Be careful, these reference numbers change depending on the instruction book used, ie the EMP book and the WING book use different reference numbers.

Re: Aloha from Hawaii

The other thought I had is that the shipping from Torrance to HI may be rather high. It may make more sense to chat with the factory about taking delivery in CA (maybe sales tax implications there too? Maybe in NV or AZ?) and shipping it directly to Sweden from there as other household goods. This i...

Re Crate size - the quick build is an entire 20ft container.

Re: GAP 26 mounting bracket

no, it doesn't need to be heavy duty, it can be rather light. PM me your address and I'll send you one, or send me your email and I'll send you a template in either DXF or PDF.

GAP 26 mounting bracket

I built a GAP-26 mounting bracket for my TSi. I wanted to both test my design/fab skills as well as test SendCutSend, a lasercutting shop that can handle aluminum. First, mocking it up: https://i.imgur.com/YjF8dvIl.jpg Second, drawing it out and printing on paper 1:1 to make sure it fits: https://i....
