Re: Wing Tip Lights Cover

I did exactly that.

My kit (3/20) did not have the 'taco' shaped metal strip later kits had. I counter sunk the plastic and flush rivet the small nut plates to it. If I have the metal backing strip I would have installed the nut plate to that.

Re: Low Engine Temps

My IA neighbor (he works as contractor for the gov on a fleet of Piper Cubs and deals with cold WX ops) and I are devising a bowden cable hinged door to control the airflow over the radiator. He has a similar design on the cubs that works very well.

Re: Cleaning and protecting airframe

This question is under "Priming & Painting" So I'll bite.. Pre painting, (I am painting my aircraft myself) I am using a grey then a white scotchbrite pad and MEK to clean the surface. I have heard that alcohol is good as well. Then, the chromate primer followed by the paint. After a y...

Re: Reducing drag

Dunno about the antennas. The old Bonanza had a retractable step (with the gear). My wife would object to removing the step for sure. I guess it is a calculation of your personal aggravation "Return on Investment" to figure out something different. I'll be curious what you come up with.

Re: Using Sling App

Has anyone downloaded the manuals to the app lately? I have successfully installed the App to my Ipad and Iphone both, and it includes the POH's. But when I try to download the other manuals, it pops up a circle with a square dot and nothing else happens. Any ideas here? James Apparently, this app ...

I am adding the static wicks and I am about to paint.

I cannot find any control balance data. Is there any data published?

Re: Baggage Door on Quickbuild

My door had little to no bend as well. The IA next door had me use 2 wood pieces on each side of the door (the width of the door) and slowly add pressure a little at a time. The reference was the fuselage rivet line. Not perfect but it fits a lot better.... no drilling required. :D
