Re: Using Sling App

I use the app pretty often, but as Philip said it's much easier to use the paper manual because taking notes etc is easier. Not all my kits came with a paper manual though, so for my empennage and fuselage I had to use the app. There is no inventory option that I know of on the app, and the scan uti...

Re: Rivets

Where’s a good place to buy rivets? Just from the factory? Hansonrivet.com if you are in america. I am near them (Southern California) and get everything next day. Use the Avex multigrip aluminum rivets with steel mandrel. They have the same shear/tensile strength as the Gesipa rivets from the kit....

Re: Dimpling

For a standard build, is the DRD2 enough? Or should I also get a hand squeezer/smaller tool for access to tight places like ribs? As Aaron said, you won't be able to get the DRDT-2 into a few of the tighter bend locations. I just take the dimple dies out of my DRDT2 and place them through the hole ...

Re: Seat colors

Great choice! I basically chose the same thing. They let you choose any combination of middle/outer parts, so I chose tan middle and charcoal outsides. Great minds think alike! 8-)

Re: Beringer brakes

That's probably the coolest nonstandard option I've seen on a TSi!! Nicely done! Also, it's one of the only nonstandard options I've seen on a TSi, so way to be a trailblazer 8-) Editing to answer Philip's question, the steel braided lines are nonstandard as well. Standard lines for Sling are plasti...

Re: Dimpling

I have the DRDT-2 dimple tool, and I can't recommend it enough. There are soooo many dimples to do if you're doing the standard kit I can't imagine having to hammer the thing every time I need a dimple.

Re: Known building "Gotchas" for the Sling TSi

I've got a new "Gotcha" The Rear Top Skins of the fuselage holes do not align properly where they meet up with the bottom skins. The forward 2/3 of holes align properly, and the back 1/3 do not. Also, almost none of the holes on either skin align on the farthest aft rib (smallest one) The ...

Nice shop Brad, I like the support boxes you built for your C frame dimple tool!
