Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone on this board. May a quick build kit appear under your tree this morning. Or that delayed part stuck on a cargo ship for the last 3 months. :)

We are a fortunate group to have the ability to build and fly this wonderful little airplane.

Merry Christmas!

Re: Fuel tanks

I agree the aft CG is the worst aspect of the Tsi. If you don't have the chute, not so big a deal. But with the chute, it's frustrating for sure. I'm still waiting for another Tsi owner to come up with a definitive aftermarket solution for this issue, i.e nose wheel weight, steel plate in floor, etc...

Re: Fuel tanks

The huge main tanks are a big plus on the Tsi. With its miserly gas usage, the range on standard tanks is over 6 hours at 8gph. I have complaints on the Tsi, but fuel tank range is definitely not one of them.

Re: Beringer brakes

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you have a complete Beringer braking kit from the hand brake to the wheels.

Anyone still early in the process, I highly recommend Beringer over the stock Matco's!

Re: Fuel Capacity - Mains, new mains & Long Range?

52 gallons for an airplane that averages 7-8 gph means 6-7 hours flight time. Very impressive With 900-1000 lbs useful load, even full tanks allows 600-700 lbs of people and stuff.

Re: Fuel Capacity - Mains, new mains & Long Range?

I was told the same at Oshkosh, and I believe it is accurate. If so, I see no reason for long range tanks, even on the low wing, as they don’t provide that much more range, and they don’t help that much with the rear cg issue. You’re better off to do standard tanks and a additional weight forward of...

Re: Alternative Engines

I think every plane has their strengths and weaknesses. In the case of the Tsi, the Rotax 915 is one of its greatest strengths. Sips fuel, runs on mogas or 100LL, turbocharged, fadec, etc. YMMV :D

Re: Forward Ballast

That will be one of my questions for the Sling guys at Oshkosh.

I’m hoping they ship the high wing up to Oshkosh.
