Hi all,

My name is Chris Fortin and I live in Mexico, NY, located at the South East end of Lake Ontario. I recently ordered The Sling TSI kit with a couple of the options - long range fuel tanks and the external alternator. I'm going to be building at home and can't wait to get started.

Welcome to the build fold... my kit is on the boat at the moment... The best song to be playing right now is Tom Petty's "The Waiting" as it is the hardest part. :D

Great choices Chris. Do you know if you're going to get the new larger tanks, plus extended range tanks?

Cluemeister,

I contacted Bertus in South Africa an asked him about the tank capacity. He said they recently upgraded the standard wing tank to 99 liters vs the old 88 liter size. So all the new planes get an extra 5.8 gallons. There is my new 45 minute reserve.

Do the long range fuel tanks stay the same size? If so, with long range tanks you are at about 73 gallons or 276 liters?

Does my math sound right?

Your math is right. You end up with about 72 gallons of useable fuel.
