Charging my Tablet or Smart Phone in the cockpit

Post by glennpretorius »

I have decided not to fit the USB charger integrated into the panel in my Sling 2.
Having the regular 12v aux power option is installed in my aircraft.
Any recommendations on what adapter with USB ports to use.

Whatever you put in, make sure that you evaluate what (if any) impact the charger has on your radio/intercom. There are some USBs that can begin to get really loud (RF) when they fail. Having the ability to pull it from the 12V plug will be good.

Given that, I have a cheap-o low-profile dual USB adapter in my RV. Works well enough to give me power on my portables while out and about.
