Assembly manuals question

So I got my kit and cracked open all the crates to get the KAIs out. Some are more recent than the ones that are located in the TAF dropbox, so I'm guessing this is different from the "official" Sling dropbox that's mentioned in the KAI Chapter 0. However, there was no such "chapter 0" in any of the crates (and neither the "electrical" manual, Chapter 7 or the heater system, Chapter 9) so I'm now wondering whether the dropbox distribution is even a thing any more? #slingsupport

If there is an up to date dropbox link with the current manuals, can someone send it? And should there be a chapter 0, 7, and 9 somewhere in the crates?

That is where I've looked before. However, the empennage manual there is 3.2 and in the crate I got 3.3, so those do not seem to be completely up to date. (Otoh, the canopy version on the dropbox is 2.4 and I got a paper one of 2.3, so there must have been some updates to the dropbox versions since they assembled my kit, too.)

This a little concerning. My flat pack kit is enroute...

Would it be possible for someone from the factory to please reconcile the manuals and issue a notice as to which and where the most updated version of the KAI's are located?

Please update the location for the latest version of the following manuals:

Introduction (crate or dropbox?)

Empennage (crate or dropbox?)

Wing (crate or dropbox?)

Fuselage (crate or dropbox?)

Undercarriage (crate or dropbox?)

Canopy (crate or dropbox?)

Firewall forward and fuel system (crate or dropbox?)

Electrics (crate or dropbox?)

Finishing (crate or dropbox?)

Heater Air System (crate or dropbox?)

Thank you! :)

I got my kit in Q1 2020. The manuals have been in what I call 'Continuous Update" mode. (the current ones are soooo much better than back then).

I signed up to receive dropBox updates from Sling. I suggest keeping a folder of docs that are around the time of your kit manufacture because as there are changes to the kits, the manuals will change as well. I found the kit i received had small differences from the kits TAF shipped later and the newer manuals reflected that.

There was a significant seat change back then, I received the new seat version but there were no build docs for it yet. A quick email to TAF and they sent the draft version to me they were working on.

Good luck!

So in Evan's build video, I noted that he says the KAI "introduction" is in the empennage kit along with the empennage manual. That was not the case for me (it's not on the packing list and it's not in the crate either.) Have people actually gotten it with the empennage kit?

Yes, mine came in my empennage kit

If you email TAF, I'm sure they'll send you one out. Probably have it electronically someplace too.

Intro manual was in empennage kit and should be on Dropbox too, just download the Dropbox files and then use the latest version you have between the kit hardcopy and electronic version. I’d recommend getting the electronic versions since you can zoom in on sections which may be difficult to read on the printed copies.

The TSi kits have been around for a while and largely seem to have settled down manual wise so it’s unlikely you’ll have massive changes between versions, and the changes are tracked so you should be able to understand whether a newer version makes much of a difference for you.

In my experience to date, the empennage and wing manuals are pretty good, with the exception of some pages around the leading edge ribs and long range tanks. The fuselage can still do with some improvements which I feed back directly to Sling so that they’re aware of it.
