Paint Systems and Surface Preparation over Alodine

Hi All,
I am nearing completion of a Quick Build Sling 2.

One aspect for my going with the Quick Build kit was that all parts assembled in the factory came fully Alodine treated.

My question now is with regards the painting process, what surface preparation is required for the Alodine surfaces and what paint systems e.g. type of primer and topcoats might people have used on their quick build kits.

I have read that the Alodine surfaces may need a slight scuff with red scotch Brite due to dust and "oxidation" over the 2-year build period.

Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Happy building and flying

I would think a quick scuff, followed by a thorough degreasing, tacking, etc. would be sufficient before priming.
The most important thing is to make sure that the primer will work with an alodined surface.
Play it safe and check with the manufacturer to make sure that the primer will work, and save yourself some aggravation, time, and money.
