Rudder tip skin
Rudder tip skin
You may recall on the rudder there is the main skin then there is a small skin that attaches the wing tip to the top of the rudder. I’m currently assembling the rudder and was wondering if the back end of the wing tip skin goes over or under the main skin. Evan B, in his video on the rudder build (6 min 35 sec into the video) , showed it going over the main skin, which I think makes more sense aerodynamically, however Sling Technical says the it should go under the main skin. Any thoughts!

Re: Rudder tip skin
Technical said it should go under? That seems really weird. I'm about to rivet my elevator tip skin and the instructions say "cleco [tip skin] on part 21 and the skins as illustrated" (my emphasis).
Not only does it make sense aerodynamically that it go on top, if you put it under it seems it would also induce a weird non-straight bend in the skin?
Although, I did note that the skin protrudes a tiny bit above the tip skin where they overlap, so maybe that means that it should go on top and the little resulting bend will take out that extra...
