Re: 916 upgrade kit?
I stand corrected and thank you for pointing this out. I didn't double check my sources. My concern is whether Rotax intends to ever extend 915 TBO to 2,000. It appears that they used the 915 data to come up with an improved engine model. Interestingly enough, the 916 was directly released with 2,00...

Re: How to stay warm at 16,000'?
I installed auto seat warmer kits in the two front seats. This process is well documented in the Vans Airforce website. My only comment is that the TAF seats are not easy to work with and you will end up deteriorating the firmness of the seat cushion. The back is easier to work. I ended up installin...

Re: N135WT down
No NTSB report yet. Very sad situation. Both pilot and passenger are seriously injured. The passenger's family has sued which has lead TAF to withhold any information about the crash.
From a builder/owner standpoint, this is not helpful. The more we know about our plane, the safer the built.

Re: 916 upgrade kit?
I recently visited The Aircraft Factory in Torrance, CA and discussed the engine upgrade with a member of their technical team. The extra takeoff horsepower is a nice to have but the additional cost plus switching all the parts that I have already received doesn't feel justified. Besides the extra t...

Hi Brian, would you please share a link to the sealant eraser that you used during your fuel tank extravaganza? As you can imagine, I messed up...

Re: Sling TSI or Vans RV-14? Need help!
I would budget 10 months for each kit (empennage, wings, fuselage etc)

Re: Is my Wing level?
Hi Brian. Thank you for the reply. I spoke with the factory and they mentioned that the introduced misalignment is too small to be material. They believe this won’t affect structural integrity, flight characteristics or performance. I witnessed your fuel tank struggles over YouTube. You bounced back...

Is my Wing level?
I would like the community's take on my issue. Also, asking the official advice from #slingsupport. My garage floor is rather uneven. I built my wing using two tables and setting up the jigs on top of them. Fine-tuning to set the jigs level is required, as expected. The final step to my wing assembl...

I will have Advanced Flight Systems do it for me and will rely on the Advanced Control Module (similar to VPX) and the AF-6600 display
