Hey Gaking, I know exactly what you're talking about as I had that part out of my airplane a time or two in the build process. Honestly what I wound up doing was getting a dremmel (and if you don't have one already you should get one) with a flat disk on the tip. The disk has a nice edge to it that ...

Edward would probably know the most on this issue.
My understanding is the engine mount is slightly different, so you need one of those. I *think* there is a slightly different cowling as well.

Honestly I’m not sure. I haven’t updated anything on my panel as of yet as I’m working towards first flight. What little I know about flush rivets is that they aren't as strong as the surface rivets. I didn't see any noticeable difference between the surface and flush (ie: more flush rivets in the areas where they were used or larger ones), but that was what my understanding is on the differences... again ...

Well, in all honesty, having the plane crumple can be a good thing. It absorbs that excess energy.
