Re: Allowable twist

I'd recommend reaching out to technical@slingaircraft.com to ask about guidance. A .3 degree doesn't seem like much to me, but they should be able to advise what the tolerances is/are.

Re: Huntsville, Al - Any Sling owners near by?

Hi Jim,

It might be worth reaching out to Edward at Sling to see if he knows of anyone in your area. If you don't have his contact info let me know. I also let him know about your reaching out.

Re: Midwest Panel Builders Install Visit

And honestly - that's quite fair... I appreciate the framing of the costs. :)

Re: Midwest Panel Builders Install Visit

I'm super curious as to roughly how much extra that cost for them to come on site to do the install. :)

If you're not comfortable sharing that, that's fine... some times I wish I had done that... :)

Re: Airventure 2024

Hi Todd, Thanks for the nudge. I am not on here as much as I used to be. :) Inspection quite frankly was the most expensive, uhm, "joke" I've paid for recently. For $900, the DAR was there for 20 minutes tops. He wrote down the serial number on the prop and engine, had me get in the plane ...

Re: Inserting dimple dies

Based on my experience it does take a bit of pressure to get them to seat into the DRDT-2... Once you get them in there a few times they go in easier. After finishing my plane they take a bit of encouragement to remain in the slots.

I don't think the o-rings should/would shear off though...

Re: Engine washing and corrosion protection

Might be worth reaching out to Rotax on that question. I'm unaware of anything specific to treating the engine itself. In fact I haven't ever heard of that really. If you're getting a lot of moisture in the engine bay you're flying in a lot of rain. :D

Re: CFI with Sling TSi time

Most folks are trying to find a CFI for transition training. If you're already flying your Sling, then any CFI should be able to do a BFR and if you specify one that has GTN and G3x training/experience you should be able to find one. I've been doing my transition training with a friend who has his o...

Re: Airventure 2024

I'm in the final stages of my push to get things done. The DAR will be here on Saturday (please let me have done everything correctly), and then I probably have around a week or so to clean up any loose ends. Hopefully the first flight shortly thereafter. I'm planning on doing the EAA Test cards for...

Re: TPMS

I'm not sure if Beringer will do it again this year - but I picked up their sensors last year at Oshkosh for just a bit over $500 on a show special. It was kind of a no-brainer given the cost difference.
