Parachute inspections in Australia
For Sling owners in Australia with the Magnum ballistic parachute system installed, if your system is nearing its 6 yearly overhaul schedule, hopefully this information will be useful, especially for those that are not owner-builders, and especially for VH registered aircraft bound by CASA maintenan...

AHARS Fault on engine start
Last weekend I experienced an issue in my Sling 4 where powering up the G3X during preflight as normal was fine, AHARS aligned correctly and was good to go, but then as soon as the engine kicked over I had Red-X on multiple instruments (A/H, HSI, Alt, Airspeed) accompanied by an 'AHARS Hardware Faul...

Re: Considering Dropping Parachute Option
Does the chute alter the max allowed weight in the baggage area, or just affect the CG? I have the chute in my 4, but the baggage area is still placarded as max 35kg - does the 20kg chute in reality make up part of this 35kg allowance? Never thought about it really until now, but then never had anyt...

Part number for canopy gas struts?
Hey all, One of my gas struts for the canopy doors has given up, so the door does not stay open at all (pilot side of course  ) And of course most of the markings on the struts on both doors have worn off... Does anyone have one handy (I'm guessing it's the same as the TSi strut)? I can make o...

Re: 'New' Sling 4 in Canberra
No, everything was returned to standard Sling 4, so back to the 914, although the oil tank is on the 'wrong' side (they left that on the pilot side)

Sling 4 LR tank details ?
I have a pre-owned Sling 4 with long range tanks, looking for information on them as they are not mentioned in the POH at all - The TSi POH has a supplement for the LR tanks, so at lease I can figure out how they work, the panel valve switching looks the same.... My queries are: - The TSi Tanks are ...

Been following these forums for a while, thought it's probably time to introduce myself I'm a PPL in Canberra, Australia and have been flying mainly Cessna 172's for several years, renting from the local aero club. I first saw the Sling a couple of years ago at Avalon (Aussie version of Oshkosh - bu...
