Re: Long Range Tank Rib 27 Assembly

Per Sling Technical Install nut and washers in place on AN 90º fuel feed fitting. Drill hole into nut (3.3mmm) for rivet but do not drill into threads. Install trimmed rivet (smallest length—of the 3 segments on shank, cut 2 off). The rivet also works as a locking pin. Apply tank sealant over nut fi...

Long Range Tank Rib 27 Assembly

Has anyone run into an issue with the long range tank rib 27 assembly fuel feed line fitting obstructing rivet? I tried installing fitting opposite direction, same issue. Will contact Sling Technical and update. https://image2url.com/images/1765159056859-081ff6fe-8694-4d6b-acc8-21ad1b5eb5d9.png http...

Re: HW Cies Fuel Sender combo

I'd imagine probably a little lag when tanks show full even though elapsed time would say otherwise. I too wanted more senders when reading plans but after building rib 22 (inboard fuel tank rib)... I'm very happy with 2 inboard senders and a clock.

Re: Wing Tip Nav/Strobes?

Started running wire for my wing tip lights. How much extra length did you leave on root and tip for the 18AWG wing tip lights? Per the KAI wing assembly, was 6m long enough? 18awg 4 wire braided nav (seems a little overkill, but it was in the kit), 16awg landing taxi, 14awg pitot. Note: Found this ...

Re: HW Cies Fuel Sender combo

Thanks @reigate... Midwest Panel Builders has since informed me that they prefer to use the generic Sling header tank fuel sender as a "low" switch to send message to Garmin G3X crew alert system (Warning/Red) rather than showing a fuel quantity level in the header tank. The wing fuel tank...

HW Cies Fuel Sender combo

Question for HW builders. Is anyone installing Cies fuel senders on their HW and are you replacing all 3 (2 main and 1 header)? I contacted cies and they said they were not familiar with HW and have only worked with Sling TSi. https://ciescorp.net/ https://ciescorp.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/cie...

Re: Fuel Tank Sealing: safety concern with stringy sealant

The fuel pickup line has a strainer to block debris and downstream of that is a fuel selector strainer with a smaller mesh. Every couple years, it's not a bad idea to drain your tank by removing wing fuel drain valve to drain any contaminants like sealant debris and water. I did have a Mooney drain ...

Re: Dimpling

That was my confusion too. I believe the hole they are referencing is pre-dimple/riveting, the hole drilled/punched from factory. Some holes will have to upsized to the smallest hole they prep for 3/32 dimple die. When my die failed, I submitted a Slingshot parts request for a defective 3/32 die and...

Re: Sling Pitch Trim & GFC 500 Auto Pilot

thanks @ibgarrett, thats what I was curious about. Was wondering if the GFC500 pitch servo communicates with the Sling elevator trim servo or if they work independently of one another? I'm guessing they do talk to each other if you have both installed. Update: Midwest Panel builders confirmed the Ra...
