HW Cies Fuel Sender combo
Question for HW builders. Is anyone installing Cies fuel senders on their HW and are you replacing all 3 (2 main and 1 header)? I contacted cies and they said they were not familiar with HW and have only worked with Sling TSi. https://ciescorp.net/ https://ciescorp.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/cie...

Re: Fuel Tank Sealing: safety concern with stringy sealant
The fuel pickup line has a strainer to block debris and downstream of that is a fuel selector strainer with a smaller mesh. Every couple years, it's not a bad idea to drain your tank by removing wing fuel drain valve to drain any contaminants like sealant debris and water. I did have a Mooney drain ...

Re: Dimpling
That was my confusion too. I believe the hole they are referencing is pre-dimple/riveting, the hole drilled/punched from factory. Some holes will have to upsized to the smallest hole they prep for 3/32 dimple die. When my die failed, I submitted a Slingshot parts request for a defective 3/32 die and...

Re: Sling Pitch Trim & GFC 500 Auto Pilot
thanks @ibgarrett, thats what I was curious about. Was wondering if the GFC500 pitch servo communicates with the Sling elevator trim servo or if they work independently of one another? I'm guessing they do talk to each other if you have both installed. Update: Midwest Panel builders confirmed the Ra...

Sling Pitch Trim & GFC 500 Auto Pilot
Is the GFC 500 autopilot independent of the Sling elevator electric trim or is the Garmin pitch trim servo installed in lieu? I understand there is no yaw servo but curious how pitch trim is accomplished.

HW Rudder Balance
Sling technical shared information with me regarding rudder balance (could not find in manual). To check the rudder balance, mount it to stabilizer in the vertical position. The rudder should rest in the neutral position and return to neutral position when moved. I was checking rudder balance in the...

Re: Overlapping skins AV-30
Thanks @lutorm... yes AV-30 is pricey here in the US with very limited distributors. I am definitely over the corrosion prevention process and the mess factor, but its my own doing :D ... lets just say it helps me sleep at night. I think if I was to build another (cant stop at one  ) I'd fog ...

Re: VOR Coax cable length
Thanks @ibgarret I just received antenna package today from Midwest PB and they included a coax (M17/128 RG-400) with bnc connectors for the length of the vertical stab... one step ahead of me every-time. As you mentioned, I'll wait until I can run an accurate measurement—avionics/fuselage/empennage...

VOR Coax cable length
I am planning to install a VOR antenna on vertical stab (Midwest PB recommended AV525 for VOR/LOC/GS) and I'm looking for advice on VOR Coax length before I rivet things closed. What is a good working length tail to panel? Did you create a connected system (tail, fuselage, avionics) or run the full ...
