High Wing KAI errata
The TSI version of this thread is very useful and I think a high wing version could be similarly helpful. As someone just starting their build, what I find won't be useful to those well ahead of me, but it might help someone later. Also, while this forum isn't exactly high traffic, having a thread t...

Re: HW Cies Fuel Sender combo
Somewhat related. I've repeatedly encountered conversations in which people have been saying the TSI needs 4 senders (two inboard and two outboard) to cover the full range of fill states. With the reduced dihedral of the High Wing, I imagine just the inboard pair will suffice. There might still be a...

Re: Dimpling
Through trial and error I learned that not all dimple dies are the same. When you receive a Sling kit, it will come with a small (3/32) and big (1/8) dimple die. Simply put, if the die fits in the hole without play, it's the correct die. If the die almost feels like it will fit, measure the die wit...

Re: Rotax 916 Prop Options Electric and Hydraulic
I very much like the aesthetics and ground clearance of a 4 blade prop, and takeoff/climb performance is important to my mission, but I also like cruise speed. I'm hoping someone does a quantitative comparison between the DUC 4-blade Tiger and MT-6 before I have to decide.

Build decisions, and when they are made
So I'm used to tracking mandatory decisions as their own milestones in some of my work projects, as even though they may not be implemented until later in the project, upstream activities can affect downstream options. It seems to me that there are a *ton* of decisions that each builder makes during...

Re: New HW builder in Washington state
Hi Dave, Welcome to the building group - you're gonna have a blast! This might be a bit of a stretch, but reach out to Synergy Air (https://synergyair.com/all-classes/category/fundamentals/) and see if they are doing any courses in their Bend location. Their website doesn't show anything in OR, but...

Re: New HW builder in Washington state
Hi Dave! I'm a TSi builder in the Seattle area - currently finishing up my build at Midwest Sky Sports. Are you planning on coming to the NW Aviation Expo in Puyallip on Feb 22-23 ? Planning on going and happy to say hi. I hadn't heard of that expo, but it looks interesting. I'll probably attend if...

Re: New HW builder in Washington state
Welcome to the forum Dave. I live in the Seattle area, KPAE is my home airport. I am starting a TSi build in a few months at the Airplane Factory. I will be at the EAA Sheet Metal at Fremont CA. Assuming this is the class you registered, I will see you there. Stathis Yep, the Fremont EAA class is t...

New HW builder in Washington state
Hey folks, I'm Dave, I live in southeastern Washington State, a place referred to as the Tri-Cities. I got my PPL in July 2023, have a high wing S-LSA (Aerotrek A240), just passed 300 hours, and I'm working on my instrument rating. I've been following Sling aircraft for about a year and a half and f...
