Re: Rivets
I still don't understand why TAF doesn't send enough rivets for the project. It is something so cheap but is worth so much more for building customer relations. It's not like buying an IKEA desk and throwing in a few hundred extra nails. This is a major project and TAF should understand that people ...

Re: Pilot Experience of Sling Builders
As you probably guess from my handle, I am currently flying a Boeing airliner in China. I currently hold 3 APTL from Canada, Ethiopia, and China. Most of my almost 11,000 hours are in the 737NG/MAX. Other than that, I have loads of time in a Beech King Air 200. I also have more than 1,100 hours in a...

Re: Bush Tires
I agree with Evan about waiting for the high wing. In my days as a bush pilot, I would get a lot of mud under the wing of the C206 with tundra tires. Also, I am not sure if the plane would be good for off roading. Rocks would always fly off the tires into the prop and this might be something to cons...

Re: Paint or Vinyl Wrap
Great response Evan. Maybe I would just paint the aircraft white and then use vinyl accents and tail number. I like the idea of changing the look every few years. It also gives any potential future buyer the option to do the same. Also, this could keep the paint costs down if I get a local auto body...

Paint or Vinyl Wrap
Hello All,
I was suggest that instead of painting the aircraft, I should look at vinyl wrap. Has anyone looked into this option for your build?
Thanks,
Andrew

Canada
Hello All, Thank you Philip for creating this section of the forum. From my research, different countries have different rules and regulations pertaining to building your own airplane. Since the Sling is a South African airplane, the process how it was approved and certified will be different from y...

Re: Suggestions & Improvements
I have a suggestion about maybe having a forum about "Regulations and Procedures" and subsections for different countries. For example, I would really like to get hands on knowledge on how things are done in Canada. I have been using many hours combing through the regulations and the diffe...

Re: TAF LED Lighting kit
Thanks for the suggestions. I will look to what is available from Aircraft Spruce in Ontario and also see what the Transport Canada Regulations say about it. I am in the process now of contacting the inspection agency to make sure I will do things in the proper order.
