Front wheel inner tube fitting with the bent valve.
I could not figure out how to assemble the front wheel inner tube fitting with the bent valve. The bent valve does not fit around the 2 holes in the wheel rim. However, some of the other builders gave me the golden tip. Remove the inner steel plate from inside the half rim, slide the bent valve and ...

Re: Rivets and CG Thought
This would not how I would approach it. You would make your plane unnecessarily heavier and you can't take it out when you need it and when the CG is not an issue. My understanding is that the CG is only an issue when you have 4 adults in the plane and low on fuel. When you are flying by yourself or...

Re: Rudder light and wiring
Beacon: You have to widen the fibreglass rudder tip with more fibreglass cloth and resin to get it to the width of the light that you are using. This is what I have done. You only have to do this where the light is, not the entire width of the rudder tip. Wiring: The trim servo needs 5 wires and the...

Re: Fuel tank sealant question - how much material?
From the 16 oz can, I am just going to mix up as needed and use a lollipop stick to apply or put in into a plastic bag with a hole cut out to squeeze it out. Basically the same as how the guy in the Vans video does it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTl827JWz68 For catridges I am either going to bo...

Re: Fuel tank sealant question - how much material?
I am almost ready for the fuel tank and after speaking to another builder I am going to order (for both fuel tanks): 4 x Kit 2: 6 oz cartridge (Fill: 3.5 oz. sealant) 1 x Kit 3: 6 oz can (Fill: 16 oz. sealant) Rationale: The cartridges are for the inside seams of the fuel tanks. The can is for the o...

Re: Known building "Gotchas" for the Sling TSi
Flap ribs 2 and 3. One of the dimpled holes in rib 3 is being obstructed by flap control bracket 1. Even with shortened rivet, there does not seem to be enough space for the rivet to be pulled because the hole is dimpled. Sling advised to make a gradual cut out in the bracket as per drawing and shor...

Re: Forward Ballast
I am not at that stage yet, but will be looking at getting a metal box made to mount on the engine (same place as the external alternator) and putting a second battery in there. I will not be putting an external alternator and so this will be in its place.

What is a Standoff?
Just started the build of the empennage of the Sling TSI and on sheet 6 for the HS, it talks about a Standoff: https://i.imgur.com/J9DwwIs.png I asked Sling Technical what they mean with a Standoff and they sent me the following photos to explain. I thought this might be useful for everyone else: ht...

Re: Mods and After Market Options
I think providing power to the outside cameras is a good idea, because as you say the battery does not last as long as the SD card can record.
What kind of plug would you use at the mounting point? It would have to be waterproof when no camera is plugged in.

Number of clecos for Sling TSI
The introduction manual was not clear on how many clecos to get for Sling TSO so I asked TAF. Here is the response:
- 350 x 1/8” Copper coloured Clecos
- 200 x 5/32” Black coloured Clecos
- 30 x 3/32” Silver coloured Clecos
- 20 x 3/16” Copper coloured Clecos
