Welcome.
For the TSi you would need a private pilot certificate to fly it in the US.

Re: Teaser for HW
They were planning to fly it across the Atlantic themselves, but due to Covid restrictions are not allowed to, so I believe they won't have the HW at Oshkosh this year.

Re: Can I operate a Sling HW at my strip?
I'm not sure if the factory has done enough testing yet to know the full take off and landing distances for the new Sling HW since they have only built the first prototype so far.
But maybe #slingsupport does have some info on that already.

Re: Wing Tip Nav/Strobes?
Does anyone know whether it is required to install an anti-collision/strobe light to the rudder if there are position/strobe lights on the wings? If the 3 in 1 satisfies the degrees visibility as tail, then technically you don't need the light on the rudder, but a lot of people will still install i...

Re: Pitot Tube :: Garmin vs Dynon
You're in luck that this is one of the few standardized kind of parts. If you go to Aircraft Spruce you'll find all sorts of masts (like this one https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/gretzbrackets.php) and they list that they support Garmin and Dynon, so I'm guessing that you'll be fine ju...

Welcome to the group
I had many similar consideration when I was thinking about my own plane and how I ended up deciding to build the TSi

Re: TSi Air conditioning
I think the biggest problem with weight is, that as we know the TSi is a bit aft-heavy, so you'd have to look to mount it up front or else you'd make the aft-weight larger, thus moving the CG even further back, which may realistically limit the plane to being a (very comfortable) 2-seater.

Re: GMU 11 Installed in Right Wing
Neat, just make sure that the direction of your bracket is spot on as the Tolerances for the GMU 11 are very tight. I just happened to have helped do a GMU 11 installation in our club airplane the other day. Make sure that it sits in flight level attitude (+/- 3 degrees) and the orientation (preferr...
