Discord for Sling?

I've often thought it'd be nice to have a bit more real time conversations around Sling. Is anyone interested in doing a Discord channel? I'm happy to fire one up for everyone if folks would find it useful? For those of you not familiar with Discord, it's a chat based app that you can do everything ...

Re: Ground power for avionics

Garmin has a series of free apps for the iPad which include the GTN Trainer and TXi Trainer.. That's what I've used along with https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUp35uc5zMnWRF7bpDHgT9NaBU6gIEa1P https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF9A599F75408E57F The apps aren't current to today's build, but it ge...

Re: Tools to build

Sounds like we found similar solutions for the problem.

The fun part is I’m very close to not having any rivets left to pull… :)

Re: Tools to build

With the XT2 it has all the rivet heads needed for the build. I haven't needed to order anything extra. Just don't loose them! :D

Re: Tools to build

Oh cool - it's not just me where the rivets jam... :) In watching the hour long tour on YT of the Sling factory in SA one of the guys giving the tour said there as a little north of 22,000 rivets. That seems awfully high to me. But yes - the Milwaukee is more than adequate to build one of these plan...

Re: Pre-heat 915 iS, TSI

How was the install process? Pretty straight forward?

I'm not going to put my heater on until after I fly off the test hours as I don't want to mess too much with that process until then.

Re: Tools to build

I've got the Milwaukee rivet gun and used it for the entire build (I'm almost out of rivets at this time!). My only complaint with the Milwaukee tool is the chamber that passes the mandrel out occasionally will get jammed with two or more rivets. When this happens it's quite a process to free up the...

My bet the amount of wiring you need to order is "lots". :)

Re: Sling TSi - Colorado

Hey Rick! By my count I think you're the 7th or 8th Slinger in CO now. This btw - is a highly unofficial number. :D I'm down in Westminster and about 2/3 or 3/4 through my build at this stage with the engine on and getting the hoses hooked up. Feel free to reach out if I can be of any help/guidance....

Re: Tsi Insurance quotes

Oh - and one other thing that bugs me (because I forgot to mention it) is that all the insurance companies out there are effectively brokers who are all using the same source for the backing. So if you go get a quote from one broker, the next broker will have the same price because the underwriter b...
