N135WT down

I just received a notice from Sling Pilot Academy that N135WT, the Sling TSi demonstrator in Torrance, had an emergency and the occupants are in serious condition. https://www.foxla.com/news/small-plane-crashes-on-san-pedro-soccer-field-2-injured has some pictures. Looks like a pretty hard impact. D...

Re: Sling TSi soon to be build in Germany

I will be starting my build in the middle of Sweden soon (kit should be with Aircraft Builders in NL now), but that's not exactly close... ;)

Re: looking for a certified flight instructor

I assume someone else did the Phase 1? Seems funny to fly with a CFI after having completed the test phase if not... ;)

Re: Interior overhead lighting

There is at least an option to get nav/strobe lights from Sling as well. Don't know about interior lights.

Re: Sling TSI or Vans RV-14? Need help!

I placed the order for my TSi kit on March 20 and I've been told it just shipped from SA. So that's more like 4.5 months, faster than I expected. (I was told 6 months.)

Re: Panel CAD

I have a copy of the TSI blank .dxf file from Sling, but I still can’t attach files to posts here. If anyone can tell me how to do that I’ll share it, otherwise ask them directly. These forums usually don't allow you to attach files because then the storage needs for hosting would go way up. Can yo...

Re: Insurance cost

In Sweden, EAA Sweden has an agreement with an insurer for planes flown by EAA members. $1.5M liability coverage is about $230/year, hull insurance $800/year for $100k coverage with $5k deductible. That seems extremely cheap by US standards. Unfortunately it seems the hull coverage is capped at $100...

Re: Discord for Sling?

Personally, I'm wary of splitting traffic further, since this forum is already quite dead. I understand if you just want to shoot the breeze, but do us a favor and direct any substantial discussions about building here so that it's archived for others to see.

Re: Tools to build

Well, I got a pro-set, but nowhere does it state what the thread is on the air attachment. Looks like it might be a 1/8" NPT but it's aluminum so I don't really want to try threading an NPT thread in there if it turns out it's not... Can anyone say for sure?
