Re: Tools to build

Yeah the XT2 not handling the small rivets is annoying. Does anyone know how many of each size rivet the kit comprises?

Re: Tools to build

Yeah, I'm considering the Milwaukee instead. It's certainly cheaper. I'm hesitant because, first, the Milwaukee is heavier. With a small battery it weighs in at about 4.5 lb while the XT2 weighs 2.8 lb. The hose probably adds some to the XT2 but for a tool that's going to be used 100,000 times durin...

I was told by the European distributor that engines were delivered in 4 weeks right now, so it seems strange you'd have to put a deposit down so far in advance. I also didn't think the engines came through SA?

Re: Kit configuration: Parachute pros and cons?

I'm looking at the plans and I'm now wondering why the baggage weight isn't increased if you don't have the parachute. Someone above said the chute assembly weighs ~60 lbs and the chute bag seems to be sitting on the baggage floor inside the box. So, it seems a significant fraction of those 60# are...

Re: Kit configuration: Parachute pros and cons?

If I opted for the new BRS chute which is now available for the TSi, it appears that with full fuel in my main tanks, my plane becomes a 2 seater with the option to use the rear seats for luggage, but not adults. Could there be an error in my mass & balance calculations? There's some discussion...

That was not my experience. I'm 5'7 and if I sat straight my head hit the headliner. I would not want to raise it (unless maybe I was only flying kids in the back.)

Re: Alternative Engines

I've been looking at Edge Performance, seeing they can give me a little more power than the standard Rotaxes without having to go turbocharged. I'm not looking to get a higher top speed out of my Sling 2, but want to climb out quicker on those high density altitude days. Their fuel injection reprog...

Re: "Electrical kit"?

Yeah it'll take some time but we're building for recreation, right? I'd rather take the money and upgrade to a 916 instead! ;)
