Re: Sling TSI or Vans RV-14? Need help!

I haven't built anything Vans but I have been watching some of the builds quite closely. I can tell you the difference between what I've observed in the RV builds and the Tsi builds are night and day. I'm about 80% through my build. Very very few parts needed any deburring at all. I'm not exactly su...

Re: Insurance cost

In Sweden, EAA Sweden has an agreement with an insurer for planes flown by EAA members. $1.5M liability coverage is about $230/year, hull insurance $800/year for $100k coverage with $5k deductible. That seems extremely cheap by US standards. Unfortunately it seems the hull coverage is capped at $10...

Re: Is my Wing level?

So this is my take on your situation. Take it for what it's worth. Sling support will be a better source of guidance. Having built a couple of wings I feel like I have a good bead on the critical nature of the "levelness" of the table. I leveled out my table using a laser guide and I feel ...

Discord for Sling?

I've often thought it'd be nice to have a bit more real time conversations around Sling. Is anyone interested in doing a Discord channel? I'm happy to fire one up for everyone if folks would find it useful? For those of you not familiar with Discord, it's a chat based app that you can do everything ...

Re: Tools to build

Sounds like we found similar solutions for the problem.

The fun part is I’m very close to not having any rivets left to pull… :)

Re: Tools to build

With the XT2 it has all the rivet heads needed for the build. I haven't needed to order anything extra. Just don't loose them! :D

Re: Tools to build

Oh cool - it's not just me where the rivets jam... :) In watching the hour long tour on YT of the Sling factory in SA one of the guys giving the tour said there as a little north of 22,000 rivets. That seems awfully high to me. But yes - the Milwaukee is more than adequate to build one of these plan...

Re: Pre-heat 915 iS, TSI

How was the install process? Pretty straight forward?

I'm not going to put my heater on until after I fly off the test hours as I don't want to mess too much with that process until then.
