Re: Aileron
On page W 9.1 - There is a isometric diagram of parts 8,9, and 10 for a hinge bracket assembly. I would expect that there would be a page between W 9.2 and W 9.3 that would illustrate and provide directions for the assembly of these parts. There is nothing - no mention of rivets required, or directi...

Re: Known building "Gotchas" for the Sling TSi
For the TSi Wing assembly instructions Dated 1-7-2020 on Dropbox, and Page dated 2019/11/20 attributed to Tebogo T (with a blank page number) which I will label W 10.1 - Description: TSi flap Assembly - Right. There is an instruction below the parts list which states: "Note: Dimple and counters...

Re: M3-M4 Rivunt and Bolts
While this is true, some number of the parts will have been punched to the M3 size and you will need to enlarge the holes for M4 rivnuts. They have not yet updated the manual to explain this.

Build Manuals
For the Build Manuals - (which have some deficiencies) - I have found that it is helpful to make a copy of the parts list that is at the beginning page of each sub-assembly. That way, when you are on a page in the build manual, you can quickly reference the Item number on the page to the actual part...

Re: Known building "Gotchas" for the Sling TSi
Vertical Stabilizer - Page E 3.3 - Dated 2018/11/14. Some builders will receive part 14 with 6 holes punched to M3 size and 5 holes to 3.2 mm. As shown in the diagram there should be 7 rivnuts installed which means drilling/reaming all 6 M3 holes and one of the 3.2mm holes to M4 size for the larger ...

Re: Vertical Stabilizer
Thanks. I will be working on it today and do a write-up for the Gotchas section - Just one page of the manual and most of the steps need to be modified.

Re: Vertical Stabilizer
I have a concern and a question about the VS instructions and some of my parts. 1) on page E 3.3, Step 2 - When I put the parts 11 & 12 (reinforcement plates) on the Channel 5, the holes on the flat side line up fine, but the side holes, though close, are about a mm out of alignment. Since the s...

Re: Discussion on known building "Gotchas" for the Sling TSi
Thanks for threading out this discussion - I was concerned about polluting the clear "Gotchas" page. One note: I take some hope for changes to the KAI in their somewhat arms-length relationship with the Torrance build center. I figure they are seeing the same stuff we do, so they might be ...

Re: Known building "Gotchas" for the Sling TSi
Thanks for everyone posting stuff so far - everything is helpful. I have been reading through the April 2, 2020 Empennage build manual, and seemingly there are no changes that address these "gotchas". Still have the wrong number of countersunk holes on the rudder tip and still say to do 8 ...

Please explain the bifurcated instructions regarding VOR antenna/Tail light vs non-VOR antenna - regarding wiring. Question: why would wiring be different depending on the VOR antenna. (BTW: I am not planning on having a VOR antenna, but am considering putting the wiring for the antenna in the VS - ...
