Thank you, @gaking! Speed is not my intention for the sake of uncompromised quality and safety. I'm just fortunate to have the time and be very prepared based on previous experience. Merry Christmas!

Hi Rob,
I just finished my TSi in January. Construction took place in Sandusky, MI with Midwest Build Center. Absolutely outstanding experience, and perfect for a first time builder like myself. Ed answered many of your questions but I'll add a few remarks. First, for questions I highly recommend reaching out to Henry Rise, owner of Midwest Sky Sports/Midwest Build Center. He and his team have built quite a few TSi's so are very familiar with the process and can offer lots of advice. He has a YouTube site with some useful videos too. They recently partnered with Midwest Panel Builders to develop some very useful options for the Sling TSi, including an improved fuel system with teflon hoses which is designed to reduce the possibility of vapor locks.
Although I prefer Avidyne GPS navigators based upon my experience with the IFD 540 in my Mooney M20J that I sold before starting the TSi, I ended up going with Garmin since that is what Sling recommends. I used Midwest Panel Builders and highly recommend them too. Since they are in Lapeer, MI I was able to visit their shop during one of my build weeks in Sandusky. Impressive operation and excellent customer focus and service. Their video on the external alternator should help you with that decision.
Altogether a great experience with these two outfits. Enjoy your build. The end result is well worth the effort.

Hi Eric,

Congratulations on the completion of your build!

Even though I am building on my own, I have also been working with Midwest for various items. I am familiar with their channel and have learned great tips from their videos. Adam OConner has also been great to work and I am installing their Fuel Manifold on the firewall, as well as the Intelligent Boost pumps.

If you are ever down in North Carolina, please stop by. I live on the Lake Norman Airpark (14A) just north of Charlotte.

I also have a YT channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIq9wR ... -5FT27mAtg

Thanks!
