Yes, the 45 degree won't fit the AN fittings, so you need the 37 degree flare to fit correctly into the AN fittings for a tight seal.

But since there's not very many flares you'll have to do, if you have a local EAA chapter, maybe they have a tool crib with one or one of the other members might be able to lend you theirs.

DDRD-2 Compatible Dimple Dies

Post by gordsh »

Hi everyone, I am expecting my kit shortly and am in the process of gathering my tools and setting up my workspace. I purchased a DRDT-2 from Aircraftspruce Canada but did not get the dimple dies needed for the Sling TSi build. Can anyone tell me if these are the correct Dimple Dies for the build:

https://aircraft-tool.com/shop/detail.aspx?id=7074DP
https://aircraft-tool.com/shop/detail.aspx?id=7075DP
https://aircraft-tool.com/shop/detail.aspx?id=7076DP

Thanks

Those are for solid rivets, so they will be 100 degrees, but for pulled rivets, you need 120 degree dies.

You will receive the dimple dies from the factory when you receive your kit, so you shouldn't need to buy them separately.
