Fuel Tank Sealing: safety concern with stringy sealant

I hope you builders are moving along with your projects. What are you the current builders doing about making sealant smooth and looking tidy along the applied area?

I noticed the sealants are generously applied and the stringy sealants forming everywhere. If they are detached and become floating debris inside the tank, I am afraid they may block the fuel flow, leading to engine performance issue or stoppage.

Please pardon me, I don't mean to scare anyone who already finished fuel tanks by raising a question. I would like to understand the best known practice.

The fuel pickup line has a strainer to block debris and downstream of that is a fuel selector strainer with a smaller mesh. Every couple years, it's not a bad idea to drain your tank by removing wing fuel drain valve to drain any contaminants like sealant debris and water. I did have a Mooney drain valve leak because a small amount of sealant debris kept the drain valve from seating properly after straining.
